Obituary of Betty Jane Reid

IN LOVING MEMORY OF BETTY J. REID Betty Jane Reid, daughter of John and Cecil (Logan) Hix, was born July 1, 1918, in Norcatur, Kansas, and passed away at her home at Whispering Pines in Norton, Kansas, on May 3, 2013, at the age of 94. Betty grew up in the Clayton/Norcatur communities and attended the local schools. On August 15, 1937, Betty and John Walter Reid were united in marriage in Kirwin, Kansas. They made their home in the Lyle/Norcatur area until John's death on December 18, 1997. Betty later moved to Whispering Pines in Norton. Survivors include: one daughter and her husband, Wanda Jean and Minh Nguyen, Lone Tree, Colorado; other relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers. A memorial has been established to the Norcatur Cemetery Association.
