Obituary of Theodore Raymond Thiele

IN LOVING MEMORY OF THEODORE "TED" R. THIELE Theodore "Ted" Raymond Thiele, son of Raymond and Clara (Duensing) Thiele, was born February 20, 1950, in Norton, Kansas, and passed away at his home in rural Norton, on March 6, 2013, at the age of 63. Ted graduated from Norton Community High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Ft. Hays State University. On November 29, 1974, Ted and Lynette "Lyn" Ochs were united in marriage in Oakley, Kansas. They made their home in Hays and Bison, Kansas, before returning to the family farm northwest of Norton. Ted was a farmer, an agronomist, and a Pioneer Seed dealer. Ted was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Norton. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Survivors include: his wife, Lyn Thiele, Norton; three children, Jason Thiele, and wife, Michele, Irving, Texas; Tonya Steuben, and husband, Jamie, Gothenburg, Nebraska; and Marc Thiele, Overland Park, Kansas; his mother, Clara Thiele, Stockton, Kansas; four grandchildren, Hailey, Tyler, Kendal, and Kaitlyn; one brother, Terry Thiele, Greeley, Colorado; four sisters, Fontaine Hilgers, Plainville, Kansas; Marcia Whitehorn, Abilene, Texas; Waunita Henderson, Hays, Kansas; and Teresa Chancellor, Alva, Florida; other relatives and many friends. Ted was preceded in death by his father and two brothers-in-law, David Scheetz and Andy Chancellor. A memorial has been established to the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
