Obituary of Lloyd William Sproul

IN LOVING MEMORY OF LLOYD W. SPROUL Lloyd William Sproul, son of William Otis and Hazel Anna (Zimmerman) Sproul, was born April 21, 1919, in Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, on December 24, 2012, at the age of 93. Lloyd grew up in the rural Edmond community and attended the Edmond schools. On July 6, 1941, he married Glenna Huffman at her parent's home in rural Edmond. They made their home on the family farm north of Edmond where they farmed and raised their family. In later years, they had made their home in Norton in the Timbercreek development and had recently moved into the Andbe Home. Lloyd was an active member, trustee, and treasurer of the E.U.B./Methodist Church in Edmond and following their move to Norton attended the Methodist Church in Norton. He had served on the Edmond Board, Edmond Cemetery Board, and Sand Creek Township Board, and was a recipient of the Soil Conservation Award. Survivors include: his wife, Glenna Sproul, Norton; two sons and their wives, Joe and Kandi Sproul, Edmond; Robert and Shirley Sproul, Norton; one daughter and her husband, Sally and Robert Clydesdale, Edmond; one sister, Helen Hillman, Wakeeney, Kansas; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruth McMulkin. A memorial has been established to the Colby Community College Nursing Program at the Norton Annex.
