Obituary of Doyle L. Foss

IN LOVING MEMORY OF DOYLE FOSS Doyle L. Foss, son of Arthur and Enid (Griffith) Foss, was born December 26, 1919, in rural Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at his home in rural Edmond, Kansas, on November 18, 2012, at the age of 92. Doyle grew up in Norton County, attended rural grade school, and graduated from the Edmond High School. He also attended Kansas State University for one year. Doyle moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he was a template maker at Beach Aircraft, before entering the U.S. Navy. He served his country during World War II. On February 6, 1946, Doyle and Arlene Adams were united in marriage in Clayton, Kansas, and they lived in San Diego, California, until Doyle's discharge from the Navy. Following his discharge, they returned to the Edmond area to farm and raise their family. Doyle was a member of the Edmond United Methodist Church and served as the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He had also served on the Edmond Grade School board. Doyle enjoyed baseball and played the harmonica in the band at school. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Survivors include: his wife, Arlene Foss, Edmond; three daughters and their husbands, Joan and Nicholas Pasch, Belleview, Washington; Barbara and David Altwegg, Wamego, Kansas; Janice Foss and Peter, Gutterman, Pinole, California; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gene. A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church Radio Ministry.
