Obituary of Leanora Johanna Braun
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
LEANORA J. BRAUN
Leanora Johanna Braun, daughter of Paul Emil and Agnes (Dicks) Wudtke, was born September 5, 1919, in Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton on November 12, 2012, at the age of 93.
Leanora grew up on the family farm and attended the Immanuel Lutheran school. On June 4, 1939, she married Bernard Herman August Braun in Norton. They made their home on the Braun family farm where she was a homemaker, farm wife, and loving mother. Her husband, Bernard, passed away June 10, 1991.
Leanora was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Norton where she loved providing altar care for over 30 years. She was active in the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aide and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She served as an adult 4-H leader and sponsor for the Norton FHA Chapter and was an avid bowler until her health no longer permitted. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she loved spending time with them. She was faithful and loving to the end.
Survivors include: one daughter and her husband, Patricia and John Vorwerk, Lakewood, Colorado; two sons and their wives, Richard and Toyah Braun and Roger and Deanna Braun, all of Norton; one brother, Marvin Wudtke, Norton; three sisters, Alma Schulze, Norton; Ida Gowens, Galena, Kansas; and Norma Jean Davis, Colorado Springs, Colorado; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Leanora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Herman and Arthur Wudtke.
Memorials have been established to the Andbe Home and the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
