Obituary of Frances Helen Mosier

IN LOVING MEMORY OF FRANCES H. MOSIER Frances Helen Mosier, daughter of Albert R. and Theresa Hermenia (Walkemeyer) Boutz, was born March 8, 1928, in rural Sheridan County, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on November 12, 2012, at the age of 84. Frances grew up on various farmsteads in Decatur and Sheridan counties and boarded in Oberlin, Kansas, while attending high school. On August 8, 1946, Frances and Arthur George Mosier were united in marriage in Oberlin. They made their home on a farm in southwest Decatur County before moving to the family farm 12 miles south of Norton in March 1953. Following the death of her husband, Arthur, on September 25, 1973, Frances moved to Edmond, Kansas, until May of 1991, when she moved to Norton. She entered the Andbe Home in October of 2008, where she lived until her death. Frances spent her life as a farm wife, homemaker, and nurse's aide. Frances was a member of the Edmond Christian Church and transferred her membership to the Norton Christian Church in June of 1991, after moving to Norton. She was a member of the O.E.S., Solomon Valley Club, Solomon Valley Hustlers, Farm Bureau, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She also spent many years serving as a 4-H community leader. She loved to sew and quilt but her family was most important to her. She greatly loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: one daughter and her husband, Priscilla and Dan Merriman, Lenora, Kansas; two sons and their wives, Dwight and Paula Mosier, LaCygne, Kansas; and Richard and Mary Mosier, Coburg, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers and their wives, Darrel and Dorothea Boutz, Zeandale, Kansas; Everett and Bonnie Boutz, Frog Hollow, Missouri; Glen and Anita Boutz, Mulvane, Kansas; Homer and Marcia Boutz, Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sisters, Flora Edwards, Clarkston, Washington; Doreen Boutz, Salina, Kansas; other relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Doyle, Leo, and Luther Boutz, and three sisters, Freda Morgan, Leona Somers, and Waneta Nilson. Memorials have been established to the Andbe Home, Norton Christian Church, and the Hospice Services of Norton County.
