Obituary of Dean Francis Kruse
IN LOVING MEMORY
DEAN F. KRUSE
Dean Francis Kruse, son of Frank and Anna (Schmitt) Kruse, was born November 7, 1929, in McCook, Nebraska, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on November 9, 2012, at the age of 83.
Dean grew up in Leoville, Kansas, attended the Leoville schools and Ft. Hays State College. He entered the U.S. Army on March 27, 1953, and served during the Korean Conflict until March 26, 1961. Following his discharge from the Army, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was employed doing specialty abrasive sales. He later moved to Almena, Kansas, where he was the operations manager at the Calvert Mines for many years. In 1995, he was elected a Norton County Commissioner and served in this capacity until 2007. Following his retirement, he moved to Norton where he lived until his death.
Survivors include: two brothers and their wives, Max and Lynn Kruse, Weslaco, Texas; and Dave and Sylvia Kruse, Selden, Kansas; one sister, Joan Glotzbach, Topeka, Kansas; several neices and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elaine Chambers.
Memorials have been established to the Norton BB Gun Club and the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Leoville, KS.
