Obituary of C. Dean Blickenstaff
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
C. DEAN BLICKENSTAFF
Curtis Dean Blickenstaff, son of Clarence and Una (Wycoff) Blickenstaff, was born May 4, \1931, in Norton County, Kansas, and passed away at the Shawnee Mission Medical in Overland Park, Kansas, on March 22, 2012, at the age of 80.
Dean grew up in Norton County and attended the Norton schools. He was also a graduate of Kansas State University. On June 8, 1952, Dean and Myrth Maddox were united in marriage. They made their home in Norton where Dean was co-owner of Ideal Truck Lines for many years. Following their retirement, they moved to Overland Park, Kansas, to be near their family.
Dean was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Norton and attended the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. He greatly enjoyed spending his time with his church, family, and friends.
Survivors include: his wife, Myrth Blickenstaff, Overland Park; three sons, Bart Blickenstaff, Idaho Springs, Colorado; Bret, and wife, Sandra Blickenstaff of Overland Park; Curt, and wife, Laura Blickenstaff, of Lenexa, Kansas; four grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Michael Blickenstaff.
A memorial has been established to the Emeritus Alzheimer's Center.
