Obituary of Catheryn M. Leiker

IN LOVING MEMORY OF CATHERYN M. LEIKER Catheryn M. Leiker, daughter of Martin and Mary (Ploeger) Schoenfeld, was born April 30, 1920, in Park, Kansas, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on March 1, 2012, at the age of 91. Catheryn grew up in rural Park and attended the school there. On June 8, 1937, she married Herbert J. Leiker. They made their home in Hoxie, Kansas, before moving to Norton in 1965, where she was a cook at the Norton State Hospital for many years. Her husband, Herbert, passed away May 12, 1976. Catheryn was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the St. Francis Altar Society. Survivors include: seven children, Alfred Leiker, Norton; Mary Alice Munk, Hoxie; Herbert, and wife, Laura Leiker, Canon City, Colorado; Barbara, and husband, Earl Hansen, Norton; Patricia, and husband, Darrell Canfield, Shawnee, Kansas; Ron, and wife, Tona Leiker, Andover, Kansas; Tamera, and husband, Rod Maddy, Norton; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Catheryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Rose Zimmerman, one brother, Jake, two sons-in-law, Lester Munk and Cloyd Zimmerman. Rosary Service - Friday, March 2, 2012-7:00 PM at the Enfield Funeral Home in Norton. Memorials have been established to the Andbe Home and the St. Francis Altar Society.
