Obituary of Dorothy V. Foland
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
DOROTHY V. FOLAND
Dorothy V. Foland was born November 4, 1916, in Tacoma, Washington, and passed away at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas, on February 27, 2012, at the age of 95.
Dorothy attended school in Eugene, Oregon, and on August 19, 1939, she married Joseph Noah Foland in Cottage Grove, Oregon. They made their home in Calp Creek, Oregon, until 1944, when they moved to the Almena, Kansas area. Joe passed away February 28, 2008.
Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Almena. She enjoyed sewing and loved being a farmer's wife. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: three children, Stephen Foland, Lawrence, Kansas; Terrie, and husband, Don Tobias, Napa, Idaho; Noel, and wife, Eddie Foland, Wichita, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Jack, and wife, Cathy Foland, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Theda Campbell, Manhattan, Kansas; other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, and one daughter, Linda Jo.
A memorial has been established to the Dorothy Foland Memorial fund c/o Almena State Bank.
