Obituary of Mary Rose Sterrett

IN LOVING MEMOARY OF MARY ROSE STERRETT Mary Rose Sterrett, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 24, 2011, at "Little Sisters of the Poor" home, Lee's Summit, Missouri, where she has resided the last 7 years. She was always nourishing heaven through her numerous masses attended and said rosary's throughout her life. Mary Rose Comeau was born in Clyde, Kansas, August 12, 1921, and was raised in a family of 15 children. Mary Rose and Raymond (Pappy) Sterrett were married on June 2, 1941, in Concordia, Kansas. Mary Rose was a homemaker, part time nurse, seamstress, and raised 7 boys in the town of Norton, Kansas. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren, bingo and dancing with Pappy. One of her cherished moments was celebrating all 7 son's college graduations. Mary Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband "Pappy", twin sons' Richard and Robert, and youngest son, Reverend Father Brad. Surviving sons are Dr. Patrick Sterrett (Jeanette), Micheal Sterrett (Sue), Dr. Jack Sterrett (Quenadyne), Tim Sterrett (Terry) and daughter-in-law Connie Sterrett. Grandchildren include: Carrie, Sam, Stacey, Micheal II, Morgan, Nicholas, Sarah, Annie, Cameron, Bethany, Paul, Lori, Joshua and Aaron. She is also survived by six great grandchildren; and many friends. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Little Sisters of the Poor for the excellent care provided and the many prayers offered in the final stages of her journey.
