Obituary of Mary Frances Rozean

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MARY F. ROZEAN Former Blair/Altus area resident, Mary Frances Rozean, daughter of George Francis and Janie Jewel (Lawrence) Doshier, was born February 18, 1938, in Redstone, Oklahoma, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on September 30, 2011, at the age of 73. Mary attended school in Washita and Gracemont in Oklahoma, and graduated from Gracemont in 1956 as valedictorian. She then went to Draughon Business College in Oklahoma City for one year. Her first job was with Southwestern Bell Telephone as a clerical clerk for 10 years. On April 8, 1966, Mary and John Dorrance Rozean were united in marriage and one year later their first child, Scott, was born. Six years later their second son, Russell was born. Due to John's work with the Civil Service at Tinker AFB and later Altus AFB. They made their home in Blair, Oklahoma. Mary worked at the Jackson County Health Department, JCM Hospital, JC Home Health Product, and had volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Altus Hospital. Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at 11 years old in her hometown of Gracemont. She was a member of the Blair Baptist Church and later attended the Altus Baptist Church where she was involved in the prayer ministry. She was involved in several school and church activities with her children and she was also a member of the Blair Sorosis Club. Survivors include her husband, John Rozean, of their home in Densmore, Kansas; two sons, Scott, and wife, Pam Rozean, Northfield, New Hampshire; Russell Rozean, Belton, Texas; two grandchildren, Mollie and Matthew Rozean, Northfield; two sisters, Janice, and husband, Jim Tennison, Tuttle, Oklahoma; Dorothy, and husband, Lewis Jordan, Moore, Oklahoma; one brother, George Doshier, Anadarko, Oklahoma; one niece and three nephews; other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial has been established to the Mary Rozean Memorial Fund. .
