Obituary of Frank N. Ward
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
FRANK N. WARD
Frank N. Ward, son of Earl and Alta (Nelson) Ward, was born December 22, 1917, in Norcatur, Kansas, and passed away at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas, on September 14, 2011, at the age of 93.
Frank grew up in Norcatur, graduated from the Norcatur High School in 1935, and attended four years at Burns Business College in Denver, Colorado. He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps from 1941 until 1945, where he became a pilot. On April 14, 1946, Frank and Velda Fullerton were united in marriage in Norcatur. They spent their life farming east of Norcatur and raising their two children, Wava and Leslie. In 1980, they moved into Norcatur where they made their home until December 2008, when Velda passed away. Frank later moved to Whispering Pines in Norton.
Frank was a member of the Harmonson-Redd American Legion Post #63, the Masons and Shriners Scottish Rite, I.O.O.F., and Eagles Club. He enjoyed golf, playing cards, fishing, and hunting, but his greatest joy in life was his family.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wava Reames, Norcatur; one son and his wife, Leslie and Lynn Ward, Norcatur; three grandchildren, Shawna, and husband, Johnny Crum; Kaley, and husband, Robert Daniels; and Keith Ward; two great-grandchildren, Shawna Hall and James Reames; other relatives and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
